Minang is the name of one of the Indonesian tribes, I think they used the name minang because of the minang bloodline Minang in indonesia and minang for other country have different

If you read history, the Malay Kingdom extends from Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore , South (Thailand) and South (Philippines) .And that includes Minangkabau from West Sumatra.

For your Information, the title said 'Malay Minangkabau' or what does it says as Melayu Minangkabau. First, there's a lot of Malay in Malaysia and Singapore share same heritage with Sumatra. Sumatra did recognize us as one-root family.

It didn't say Malaysia, it says Malay. Please do your research on what it means to be Malay in Singapore and Malaysia. Due to many reasons such as culture and religion, people with different backgrounds such as Achehnese, Javanese or even Minangese people might officially register themselves as Malay. Only Malaysians / Singaporeans would understand the reason behind this! Peace.

We never claimed minang cuisine as ours? Funny because majority of us malays from Singapore and Malaysia have javanese and minangkabau blood running in us but when we try to embrace this side of our family, we're immediately claiming and calling it as ours?

2:31 I totally agree with Ariff here, you should not give your rendang recipe to anyone, no matter how professional their chefs are. It's one of the most difficult food to cook ... The collaboration with Shangri-La is good for your exposure but please do it without giving up your recipe .. all the best for you and Ariff ..
