    well it certainly sounds good in theory and on paper. really unfortunate that its actual in theater success rates are abysmal. the best figure that i had heard from the army was close to 30% kill ratio. thats miserable. especially when each incoming has 2 missiles locked onto it. whats really sad is that the usa dont even have these pathetic excuses for an aerial defense system spread out to "defend" the country. (we have NO defensive missile systems at all) however every other country in the world has a defensive system of some sort. missiles are just the best and cheapest way to keep yourself safe. whats bad is that the usa really should have multiple batteries of some sort of defense system. considering how the usa is always sticking their nose in everyone else's business. eventually those other countries are gonna get sick of that and do something about it. look at russia. who just happen to be the producers of the top 3 missile defense systems (that we know of) just look at the s300 or even the 400. either way that is a much much more superior system with the lowest reported accuracy that i found was close to 91% and on top of having a LOT of these systems, they also have them spread out all over the country of Russia. and you know how friggin huge russia is. i think some "other" countries should take heed of what Russia has done and try very hard to copy it. especially if said country is determined to stay in the middle of every other country on earth's business. cheerio.

    The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't, by subtracting where it is, from where it isn't, or where it isn't, from where it is, whichever is greater, it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance sub-system uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is, to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position where it was, is now the position that it isn't. In the event of the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has required a variation. The variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too, may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was. The missile guidance computance scenario works as follows: Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is, however it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subracts where it should be, from where it wasn't, or vice versa. By differentiating this from the algebraic sum og where it shouldn't be, and where it was. It is able to obtain a deviation, and a variation, which is called "air"

    most of them explode near the target, that's to counter an F-16 for example from turning a sharp turn, it would explode near it and the rocket usually is fired in 2,3,4 packs and usually give a good result from what i saw in Syria against let's say Cruise missiles, being fired 55 rockets, around 33 got a confirmed destruction, some reached the destination sadly and killed civilians, and the rest got left because they noticed that it would hit a dessert and it would be a waste to launch countermeasures against it, although I should add that yes missiles do sometimes escape and a single one of them is capable of immense destruction like what happened in Homs

    Leave the system on for over 8 hours and let the drift error start happening then let the 24 bit decimal system convert the time to binary and you'll be lucky if it's anywhere close to the target it's trying to intersect. The 1991 Gulf War you'll see all the iconic videos of them launching supposedly taking out Saddam Hussein modified longer range Russian SCUD Missiles the fire solution was off the explosions that were being seen at night is it's self-destructing function kicking in so you have multiple pieces falling to Earth along with an old shitty outdated Russian air defense system from the 70's modified with an extra fuel cell to give it range falling from the sky aswell.
