We don't need no "education"...... Prof. Chomsky has a rare quality in academia: common sense.

Education is simply utilitarian. It enables the collective, in our times the state, to achieve greater things. It enables the individual to achieve a better life. It enables the human race to leave the dark ages behind. Turn higher education off and watch yourself slide back by centuries within a few generations. It's that simple. No fake book stacks needed, either.

Noam's hammer analogy is virtually identical to an analogy I made about religion. I keep thinking things and then finding these great philosophers that have thought the same thing.

Why is the cameraman giving us so many views of Chomsky's nose or ears etc.? Does he think it helps us follow the ideas? If so he is wrong. If he is unconcerned about that, then he should be.

Toss facts in his head untill it jellys Teach him one thing inside and out untill he has learned how to learned. Show him one corner and exspect him to find the other three corners. But you bastards turned it into brainwashing indoctrination. Rather then teaching how to think your started teaching what to think.

Thank you for the sporadic HD shots on Chomskys mouth and nose. I don't know If i would be able to enjoy is as much if I wouldn't be able to see his spit and nose hairs as detailed as you showed them.

How to make a basic ass youtube video: 1) frame subject in an aesthetically pleasing composition 2) check the audio. Director, please go back to film school. This video sucks ass and Noam, as brilliant as he is, is an extremely over-educated hypocrite who "indoctrinates" his own students into his liberal bs world. How did he get so smart? Another Lincoln I suppose. (eyes roll)

I know genius kids who dropped out of high school, and I know idiotic kids who were AP students and had 4.0 GPA’s. GPA doesn’t correlate with creativity and IQ. I had a friend who dropped out of high school at 15, 1.1 GPA, went on to local college and outperformed nearly everyone, and now is doing what he loves, in engineering. He’s smarter than the valedictorian.

Thought experiment: What if there were no schools, from Kindergarten through graduate school? Answer: Industrial forces would have to invent them. But wait a minute, if there were no schools there would be no industry. Education created industry, which in recent decades has resolved to annex its creator in order to feed its greed for ready workers.

Cherish voices like that of Noam Chomsky; a perpetual subpoena against the silent but aggressive expurgation of our freedoms. We continue to be 'farmed', from cradle to grave, by gluttonous capitalists, a tenacious parasitic group who have succeeded in financialising the power of democracy thus rendering governments and the people they are supposed to serve virtually impotent. The problem is not the relevance or reception of the message, it is the apathy and torpidity of the enslaved. Wake up!

The purpose of "Education" for Mr Chomsky was to give him a cushy academic lifestyle with the illusion of having something "meaningful" to say ..but not actually change anything...yes... well done Noam...what a great use of your life and leech !

Current school system is not working. It's too mechanical for one. People are not machines, so why are we so inflexible in insisting in using the same method? I feel we can learn much more effectively if we allow students more time to digest information, ask questions, discuss what's happening in their life, learn about themselves, find their talents. But the problem with this approach is it takes a great deal of intelligence. Most teachers are lazy, robotical, and this is a problem that needs to be addressed.
