Why would you not show us your actual stitching as you work. There were so many times during the video where the camera is focused on you or the end of your sewing machine. I need to see the process.

Jeanette Berry it’s from Ikea. I’ve recently put it on casters so it’s raised up and easy to move about now too, even better!

Hello I am in the market for an overlocker. May I ask which brand and model you use and is it user friendly. I’m a quilter and just starting out in garment making so I figured I would start out with user friendly serger lol If you have anything you do not like about your serger or any recommend actions as far as what you would choose if you were getting a new one now since this video is about a year old

  12. Threadquarters

    Threadquarters10 bulan yang lalu

Hi Jacky. I have the Brother 1034D which is an entry level overlocker that is pretty well priced. I have found it excellent and it has certainly served me well for the 4 or 5 years that I've had it. It is a bit loud and clunky, and people who have upgraded from it to say their more expensive machines run more smoothly, and quietly. But, I'm afraid I have only ever used my particular machine, so I can't give you any real comparative advice!

Sounds likes your serger desperately needs oil! I never used to oil mine much, but it hummmms much better when it drinks lots of oil.

You are adorable! Love this video...tripped across your channel when it was up next on the side queue list. You are very gracious responding to the advice folks are giving you [which seem to be from older folks....I'm an older gal but don't do much advice giving lol]. Anyway, love the color and the pattern - you make it look easy so I shall try back will hurt too after two hours! Thank you for sharing!

    Pamela GahanTahun Yang lalu

Thank you. That was great. I think when parents make good use of the time they have when bub is asleep is great. I use to do all my sewing / craft when the children were asleep at night when I could enjoy the peace and quiet. Only thing was I would go to bed too late because I cherished the time alone so much and being creative that I didn't want the night to end. I would only stop when things were blurry so I had to stop. Doing it during the day like you did makes more sense. You are a good teacher by the way. Thank you. Pamela from Tasmania Australia

Pamela Gahan this is what I do too. It’s bad. It’s 3:30 am and everyone’s asleep so I’m up watching these videos peacefully. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just wondering what pattern you used for the top you are wearing in this video. It is just what I would like. Also, i have become quite addicted to your videos, trying to catch up on all of them! LOL!

  43. Threadquarters

    ThreadquartersTahun Yang lalu

Oh thank you, I'm so glad you are enjoying my videos! I'm afraid the top I'm wearing in my video is bought...I didn't make it! But it's a very simple shape. I think you could make it from the Grainline Hemlock tee (a free PDF pattern, just google it and it will come up) and then add width to the neckband (like about 20cm, doubled over). Hope that helps!

Happy that YT suggested this video, it was so fun to watch and recall past days when I tried to sew when my littles were napping. Looking forward to getting to know your channel and hopefully be inspired to get my mother's old Bernina serger un-jammed and ready to sew again. (That machine makes me very stabby!) 2018 should be a good year to get sewing garments again. Happy New Year!
