Hi, Could you do an analysis of how he sets up this season. I do not think he should be given time, although he isn't the main problem at United, he is severely out of his depth. Thanks

the new tactics arent working. the new system 4 2 3 1 isnt working cause ball is moved to slow and distances between players is too much. the old 4 3 3 was great cause it allowed the team play closer together

This is a great video and explanation but I do think that there is more to the drop in form. Match performance and opposition analysis plays a huge part in how teams prepare for their games, this could be subtle tweaks to the shape of the team or even individual player instructions to close down and occupy certain spaces to stop a team playing their preferred and successful style of play. When OGS was first placed in charge, there would have been little to no data on his team playing to his tactics, this means that you could not look at regular passing patterns and trends such as which players occupied specific positions, the fluidity of the team and other aspects of play. After a couple of games you could be starting to look at this information but the small amount of data available would mean that you could not be confident in the results of the analysis. Now that enough games have been played and confident analysis can be completed, teams will start to adapt to nulify the Manchester United attack, this may be done by teams pressing in specific areas to stop Manchester United building attacks or by closing down expected receivers of the ball in passing patterns mentioned earlier. The same applies to how Manchester United will defend, analysis will be undertaken to understand defensive weaknesses and where the team can be exploited. This obviously works both ways as Manchester United will be conducting analysis too. Another example of this is Leeds United under Marcelo Bielsa. After a very strong start to the 18/19 season teams eventually had data to analyse and started to find ways to nulify the Leeds United attack and exploit their high pressing style of play on the break leading to failure to hold onto a top two position in the championship in the final stages of the season. This has continued into this season, where Leeds have started strong but have not looked as convincing as they did at the same stage last year as teams understand how they will play.

I believe the real problem of Ole is that he is scared of loosing his job! He can’t rotate his team enough and thus the main players are getting tired, the backup strength of the first team players isn’t good enough! He really needs no injuries for a good performance on the pitch. Another noticeable thing is that the younger players are being a lot of chances in the competitions off the main team ones, I remember an Europa league game where the youngsters played a match on Tuesday and thus Chong, Greenwood, Gomes weren’t available. On the right side, AWB has not had any rest, what do you expect? Dalot and Shaw are both injured, else he would have rotated AWB, Dalot, Shaw and Young for the full back roles, Williams is still too raw, can’t be playing Premier League for now. Central midfield is the most problematic area though, where are the options? McT and Fred really! Andreas, Lingard, Mata - not good enough for a consistent run, options? The best solution to this could be to play Lindelof in CDM, with Tuanzebe, Maguire and Rojo to fill the CD role!

Hi I’m Liverpool Fan , but it dose make me sad seeing Man united not competing with the top 4 .. I feel Jose Mor have strong personality that reflects on players unless you have someone like Pogba who says either me or the coach! Ole is like I’m the good guy but with united club history and culture you need Coach like Joe Mor and give him time and full power to decide .. I wish united come back again .. let’s wait and see ..

It's funny because initially Solskjaer's changes worked, partly because the players were eager to show what they could do without Mourinho's negativity and restrictions. Then came the summer window, we weakened our attack and midfield by letting Herrera, Lukaku and Sanchez go and getting no replacements. The results started to get affected and players felt back to their old habits, and worst of all, all of Ole's flaws came gushing out. This is now our worst start in 30 years, the players seem out of form and exhausted, and our squad depth is paper thin. Ole has also outright sucked at managing, his tactics remain unchanged and predictable, set pieces are useless and our attacking is non-existent. His smartly chosen words are no longer making an impact, and tactically he's out if his depth, failing to actually establish a specific style of play or tinker us to grind out wins, dven the football is duller than Jose's. The way that it's going, he'll be sacked by the end of this season, and we'll be back to rushing in the next manager. Without actually fixing the real issues: lack of a clear plan of action and transfer policy, the money first approach taken by the Glazers, and the need for a Director of Football.

I personally think the only reason they did well in the first 12 games is because players who were underperforming started to play better and then reverted back to their old selves. Unfortunately, I think a lot of United players think they are better than they actually are, while players who are consistently good performers are players who work hard and are more humble (in my opinion players like Daniel James, McTominay, Matic, Mata, and Wan Bissaka) they may not be the most technically gifted players but they provide more consistently good performances and over a long period consistently good is better than occasional flashes of brilliance.

What make me laugh is that the MU fans is willing to give 2-3 years time to Ole to rebuild and gave no time to Moyes, LVG as well as Jose .... worst double standard ever !!!

  41. Brenax Quiny

    Brenax Quiny3 hari yang lalu

@Sunny Chow don't know which Brain United use, cause Jose was doing great in is Start at United but just a little slip which if he was given time he would have fixed it, the guy was only Sixth and lost against a very strong Liverpool side and got sacked just because of that but when it's ole they wanna give him all the time he wants even if it's rebuilding didn't the other managers before him do that

Lukaku given a break More attacking emphasis Ole encouraged fullbacks to join the attack Wingers could then add numbers to the box Kept two forwards high on defence Mata / Lingard would drop to tip of a diamond Back line was pushed high up Similar to Liverpool on defence - Salah, Mane high, Firmino drops deep
