    For wearables, sizing is a major issue. It’s not like a store, where you can try things on in person, and choose the best fit.

    My town doesn't have cardboard recycling. I sit & look at all the empty boxes I have. Wish they had a box drop off for Amazon.

    Accurate product description, photos to scale, good quality products, great prices and consumer reviews is all is needed to reduce returns, increase sales and customer satisfaction, is not complicated. I have reduced my Amazon purchases because all quality is number one for me without killing the bank of course. When I get a product that don't live up to the description or the quality sucks for the money I return it, and do an honest review, thousands of reviews, that actually mean something. You can tell when is a paid review, some will tell but most don't. I would advice Amazon to penalize sellers that resell used products as NEW, I hate it when something said new and find out that is has been used or opened and half the stuff is missing. Say it is used and I'll know before the fact. I don't mind buying used as used, sometimes you can save and recycle at the same time. That my friend is how you do it.

    3:00 amazon does not pay for both ways for shipping, you pay for the shipping at least one way, and the seller also takes a hit. so this video is not all true.

    Amazon returns stuff, and then sells opened and NOT new stuff as New. Caught them and many resellers selling used stuff as new... when it was obviously used, scratched, fingerprints, etc... getting tired of ordering from them...

    They talk about waste yet all the secondary logistics is the actual waste. Double boxing, door to door delivery. The younger generation complains about the older not being sensitive to the environment yet are wasting so much more than the older ever did. Go to a store buy the correct item first time keep locals employed it isn't rocket science. The world really misses Critical thinking sometimes

    the real trick to lowering returns is 1. better quality control, 2. send me the item i actually ordered, 3. if an item has 90% return rate just stop selling it

    I got burned on a returned warehouse deal 100$ item. It seemed to work ok but it also seemed to be heavily used. I should have sent it back right then. After my return window expired I had a project and discovered the item was flaky and not working correctly.

    All well and good. Sounds great. The reality is different. What is Amazon anyway? In my experience it's largely a collection of third parties, some operating fraudulently. (I bought a Janome sewing machine from "Janome" --it arrived with a few problems. I contacted Janome for warranty service. "We don't sell on Amazon" Now what? And who is Amazon:Janome?) Returns. I can't remember the last time a home pick-up of a return actually worked. The driver always came to the wrong side of my house, or said they stopped, but didn't. The crappier the item the more onerous the return. $10 items that charge $6 'shipping' to return (I have Prime). And the Reasons Why? It's so bureaucratic and channeled often you can't actually communicate any real information. This is one reason why fake reviews get such traction-- the stifling overly controlled options, like any overly bureaucratic system rewards the corrupt. Like every once successful retailer for the past 130 years Amazon's demise was born at the same time as their brilliantly original approach.

    Amazon don't care about returns. They force their distributors to take the whole lot back, no questions asked, or they don't buy from them.

    If Amazon and other America corporations would do quality control checks on a new products they would save millions of dollars in returns, Amazon has the easiest and best return policy. I only return defective merchandise; it makes me mad to see products that are faulty and could easily be fixed at the factory level, why don't they give people like my self-seller information so we can alert the factories as to their faults rather that needlessly spend money on faulty products???

    returns are a major headache for customers??? How about a major headache for sellers? Buyer gets free return label at sellers expense, ups or usps picks up the package at the sellers expense, buyer gets money back fopr a used item they changed their mind about.. such a headache for the buyer...

    This video makes it sound like Amazon is eating the cost of all these returns. You know Amazon is pushing all the return costs they possibly can back on their suppliers, even products that were damaged in shipping due to Amazon's lousy packaging.

    Interesting... I've been buying things online for years. I've returned 2 things, because one thing was broken and the other was missing too many parts. There have been plenty of things that I didn't like but im not about to waste my time going through the return process. It's easier to just sell it to someone for a few dollars less than what I paid. Im guessing im not the typical shoppers.

    You are dead wrong Amazon beats anyone in easy returns of failed products I use to do Q.C. work in China for an American company, their returns were usually less that 2-3% and our contract read that our American company would absorb up to 2% more than that the Chinese factory ate 100% of the costs, it pays to have onsite inspection living in China working with the factories, most problems found are stopped in China.

    None of these options really work for me except for pickup. The closest UPS is like 20 miles away, and that is all; there are no Kohl's or drop boxes.

    Very insightful video but let’s keep it real at (11:52) *customers don’t care about ecological issues when buying and returning products. Most customers don’t know what “ecology” even means.* I thought the Kohl strategy was pretty smart, killing two birds with one stone: making it easy for Amazon to return products while Kohl gets added revenue - never seen a more mutually beneficial situation in my life. I absolutely Amazon’s return policy and most of their products that seem to be scams but it’s good to know this information.
