  27. Singh

    SinghBulan Yang lalu

@Linda M Yes Its hard, I agree. Because frequent human intervention might lead to incompetence in the upcoming generations as they rely more and more on humans. And also there is something called Natural Selection. But we have ruined enough of their lives by our actions. We never think of it. Our actions effect the entire life on this planet, not just humans. Sometimes I think they are so unlucky that they were born alongside such an ignorant species, the humans. We exploit this planet as it has been made just for us. In Sanskrit there's something written as वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् (vasudhaiva kuTumbakam) which means that the Whole World is just one family. A tightly knit nuclear family. But we fail at every aspect of conserving life, conserving our family, saving those who are born with us on this very planet. Sorry for the long comment but I couldn't help myself.

Lions numbers continue dropping dramatically. We will get the point of having less than 1000 lions, but the politically correct ones will continue with their 'Let's not interfere, it's nature'. And while these people convince themselves with 'Let's not interfere, it's nature', lions are being proached, raised for canned hunting and losing their vital espaces because we continue increase human population and the demand of resources. That's to interfere with nature, genius. The problem is that, while politically correct ones repeat and repeat 'no interference', making lions that have any chance of getting ahead and survive lose it, the hunters keep killing them and the lions continue losing their spaces.

Gujarat government is reluctant to spread them to other places from as close as Kuno national park and as far as Iran simply because they want monopoly over them. This leaves them vulnerable to diseases like canine distemper virus or death due to territorial confict among each othet since the land cannot support their numbers.

  106. Dalibor Jovanovic

    Dalibor Jovanovic15 hari yang lalu

That's not the only reason. The presence of tigers in Kuno and other reserves across India is a point of concern. Having 2 big cats who are very similar in size and hunt the same prey could lead to clashes, and since both the Bengal tiger and Asiatic lion are still very endangered, any death counts as a tragedy for conservationists. It's a risk and I'd sooner advocate trying to establish lion populations in other countries like Pakistan and Iran.
